Preparation of the Foods

The first thing to for a Burns supper preparation is the preparation of foods. You should have prepared all the foods that you will serve for the supper. Make sure to not forget the Haggis since this is the main ingredient of the supper. There are a lot of meals online that consider the Haggis as the main ingredient. The most popular one is the Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties which is basically a mixture of Cooked Haggis, mashed potatoes, and swede. There are also other ingredients online that you can follow to prepare the Haggis Welcoming Your Guests on a Burns Night Celebration

In addition, you should also not forget about the soup since this is the first food that will be served on the tables. Prepare some desserts as well and bottled of whisky.

Piping in of the Haggis

The Burns supper begins with the piping in of the Haggis. This is done when the pipers play their bagpipes while the Haggis on a large plate is being carried by the chef who prepared it. The audience claps while the Haggis is being brought to the table. Once it is brought into the table, the pipers stop playing their bagpipes.

Address to the Haggis

Once the Haggis is placed on the table, the poem entitled Address to the Haggis written by Robert Burns is recited by all people into the room. The chef is still in front of the people holding the knife which will cut the Haggis into pieces while it releases its very delicious juices that people will crave for. The poem ends as the Haggis is cut into pieces. The Supper

The soup is first served on the tables. This will serve as an appetizer. The main course meal then follows, usually a Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties, or other dishes made from the Haggis. After this, desserts are served on the table. Typical desserts include chocolates, cakes, and sweetened fruits.
